I'm not sure why anyone, including a journalist, would take anything Meta spokespeople or their "oversight board" says at face value. I worked at Meta. Leadership lies. That's it, that's the punchline. They lie to employees, they lie to regulators, and they lie to journalists. They do put on a good show, though. The free food is always excellent 👍
You have no choice but to report what they say. In no way do I think it's your fault, this is just their schtick. The "Oversight Board" doesn't move slowly, it does what it's told when they need the oomph of that "organization" to throw weight behind the decision. Zuck (and his 2 flunkies) run everything. They just put a sheen of respectability on decisions by invoking the "Oversight Board." There's a reason all the Meta employees yawned when they announced the "Board."
Meta is a closed system, and I think you do a great job covering it. Meta leadership are all just unethical liars, and you can't get around that.
Thank you for talking about this!

What exactly do you think I'm taking at face value?
