How did you write such a level-headed article on so little sleep?! I was very much enjoying the soap opera, but now you brought me back down to earth with your LOGIC and your REASONABLENESS.

Jokes aside, thank you for sharing those thoughts on the role of the board and how the perception AI safety folks will be impacted by the board's actions. Working for a large company myself, I long ago learned the lesson that you have to line up support before you make a big move. The board executed this decision in the most amateurish way possible.

Will be curious to learn more about this in the coming weeks as well. Are more people in the AGI movement more alarmed at copyright issues? https://www.fastcompany.com/90987146/stability-ais-high-profile-resignation-got-lost-in-the-openai-chaos

The biggest thing is that the board can't really articulate why Altman was fired. So they're either hiding that they don't have a reason or hiding that the reason can't be shared in public.

4 out of 5 of the Board is my understanding. Regardless, Microsoft Billion Dollar investor"realigned" things.

Updating my "Report" to the FTC, I have already annotated the 'Chat GPT4' issues.

After Musk, everyone else in Silicon Valley seems benign. But to trust the development of a technology that has the potential to wipe-out humanity to some guy, seems so foolish that if it was part of a movie, I wouldn’t believe its silly plot.

PS. Once again, I appreciate the comprehensive presentation of a serious issue.

Where is the transcript for the Altman interview? The link goes to an NYT page which links to other platforms, but I don't see a transcript

It is there now. NYT podcasts usually take a couple of hours to get the transcripts written and posted after episodes go live.
