Would love to hear suggestions for bridging the gap between divestment and Project Texas that you would see politically palatable. I don't see much "alternatives" critique - just hear analysis of state control + server divestment.
One of the most notable aspects of the hearing was that Congress seemed to have no answer to this question! It's just dead in the water, full stop. (I have asked around on this issue and technical people don't seem terribly optimistic that there's a foolproof way to ensure against data misuse.)
