Wait... am I understanding this right? To get ad revenue on Twitter you have to have impressions from other Twitter Blue subscribers, and to make the equivalent of $8 in ad revenue you have to get 5M impressions? Aren't there only a few hundred thousand accounts paying for Twitter Blue? That seems like a scam.
I'd love to see deeper reporting on this — i.e. how many users are actually eligible for this newly expanded ad program. It's completely unclear how X actually computes impressions, but regardless, how many people on the platform currently qualify? Maybe 100K (seems generous)? And of those 100K, how many of them subscribe to X Premium? 25%? And then of that 25%'s followers, how many of THEM pay for X Premium in order to be counted?
If the amounts being deposited in people's accounts are to be believed, fine — but if there's only 5,000 people on the platform making money from the program, then that's a catastrophe that no one seems to have reported on yet.
Great read. One does have to wonder where the line is between Elon being weird and the cheese sliding off Elon’s cracker. The spot where this is most concerning is vis a vis his security clearance.
Sidenote: what the hell was he doing in Cleveland?
Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame?

It sure does!

Love the old Flip Wilson reference @caseynewton!
Would be interested to know more about the exodus of AWS folks since Jassy took over.
